Sisal Carpets Maintainance and Cleaning
Suggestions for care
- Regular cleaning with a powerful vacuum cleaner (with or without brush attachment)
Stain removal
- The fresher the stain, the easier it is to remove
- Soak up the worst of the dirt with an absorbent white or undyed cloth
- Remove solid particles using the back edge of a knife or a spoon
- Use special carpet shampoo e.g. Tapigold onto the bristles of a natural fibre brush or cloth, carefully remove the stain from the carpet by rubbing gently
- Do not moisten the stain, as sisal tends to shrink when wet and water stains could result
Thorough cleaning
- Thorough cleaning to remove greasy or oily residue is necessary from time to time
